Ready-to-use Supplementary Food (RUSF) is a food supplement intended to be used as part of a nutritional program, to treat moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) for children over 6 months, for a period of 2-3 months. Ready-to-use Supplementary Food (RUSF), spread, for the management of moderate acute malnutrition, 100g per sachet, 150 sachets per carton. One sachet per day is the recommended dose of RUSF and provides approximately 535kcal. This product is not a breast-milk replacer. RUSF is intended to be eaten directly from the package with no dilution, mixing or cooking. RUSF is a fortified, stabilised lipid-based paste or spread that is individually packaged into sachets. RUSF is generally made with heat treated oil seeds, pulses or cereals together with sugar, milk powder, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals.
