Drive Systems Kit

This versatile kit is part of a series that allows manyexperiments using different arrangements of their parts. Students test a universalcoupling, a belt drive and a chain drive to see how they work and how theydiffer in the way they transfer motion. The kit introduces students to key engineering terms such asgear ratio, pulley ratio and efficiency. The kit includes extra parts to helpshow the importance of the angle of lap around a pulley and its relationshipwith friction. Students, teachers orlecturers fit the parts of the kit to the Work Panel to study or show anengineering science topic. This kit includes three different drive systems toshow their relative advantages and disadvantages. The selection of parts in the kits and the choice of fixing points on the Work Panel that teachers or lecturers may extend the experiments to an even greaterrange. It includes all the worksheets, guidancenotes and lecturer notes needed for typical experiments with each kit.
